Make a Beauty Lookbook You Can Actually Use
OCEAN BEAUTY / THE BEAUTY EDITION
When you put together a makeup look you love, a quick record can save you from trying to reconstruct it later. A personal beauty lookbook can be as simple as an album on your phone and a short note for each look.
Capture the combination
Take a photo once you have finished getting ready. Add the date and a useful label, such as “dinner with friends” or “simple morning makeup.” Choose labels that will help you find the look when a similar occasion comes around.
Keep in mind that lighting and camera settings affect how color appears. Your photograph is a reminder of the combination, not a precise color reference.
Write down exact product names
List the products and selected shades you used. If your eye look came from a palette, note where the shades sit in the palette if they do not have individual names. A simple sketch can help you remember placement.
For an Ocean Beauty combination, you might record the Pengy eyeshadow palette alongside the Balmy lip kit, which includes lipstick and matching liner. Only record that pairing if it is one you have actually tried; your lookbook should reflect your own experiments.
Add one practical note
Write down something that will help next time: the brush you used, the order you followed, or the part that took longer than expected. You could also note the outfit or accessories that completed the look.
Keep the entry short enough that you will maintain the habit. A photo and three useful lines are plenty.
Use it before you shop or get ready
Before an event, browse the combinations you already know you enjoy. Before buying a new product, see whether you are missing something specific or already own an option you like. Over time, your lookbook becomes a practical record of your taste and the routines you want to repeat.
